A Lesson from Tupperware…
Tupperware was once a household name, famous for products so durable that families passed them down through generations. Their airtight containers kept food fresh for years, and their reputation for quality was unmatched. But ironically, it was this very strength that contributed to their downfall, people didn’t need to keep buying replacements because the products lasted too long.
In a world where most companies profit from planned obsolescence, Tupperware accidentally created items that outlived their own business model. Combined with changing lifestyles and competition from cheaper brands, the company began to struggle. It’s a strange and almost tragic business lesson: sometimes being “too good” at what you do can become your greatest weakness.
